Together with our International Men’s Day Facebook campaign and the organic explosion of International Men’s Day across the world, we, with your help, are saving thousands of men across the world from premature death from suicide.

Why men’s issues are not taken seriously is a question we often ask ourselves at Dads4Kids. We have been advocating for men’s issues in Australia’s Parliament for over 20 years. We also sponsor International Men’s Day on November 19.

The theme for the 2024 International Men’s Day is ‘Positive Male Role Models.’ It is a time to celebrate good examples of men and to raise awareness of men’s well-being.

Father’s Day is for all the dads you know, so let’s consider broadening the boundaries of Father’s Day to include a few more men who could use an encouraging word. Here are a few men to keep in mind on Father’s Day and questions to help inspire a meaningful message.

During a break in filming Knox Grammar School’s Centenary Tattoo, I googled ‘Virile Agitur’, Knox’s school motto. I almost fell off my camera chair when I discovered it means ‘do the manly thing.’ What a fantastic motto for an all-boys school!

In a national, and probably world first, the Australian state of Victoria has appointed a Parliamentary Secretary for Men's Behaviour Change after the Prime Minister declared a ‘national crisis’ of male violence against women earlier last month.

As a man, I can speak to this deficit of male friendship. Many of us can say hello in passing, talk about the weather, and maybe discuss the latest sports news, but how many of our connections truly care about us and would be there when we need them?

Our forefathers would roll in their graves (and they’d roll their eyes too if they could) if they knew some 21st-century Westerners put ‘toxic’ and ‘masculinity’ in the same sentence. The truth is that healthy masculinity is a marvellous force for good.

The fact is that the data simply doesn't support the narrative being pushed by the left-wing media, bureaucrats and activists: that the problem of intimate partner homicide is getting worse, or that all men are somehow to blame, or that Australia has any kind of toxic male cultural problem.

Masculine men are the very thing we need — now more than ever in the battle of traditionalism versus progressivism. Though the media has attacked the vital value of gender itself, we know they’re wrong. We know male and female is how we’re made.
