The Men Atlas
June 16, 2026

One of the most impressive new resources in the global men’s sector is the Men Atlas, created by psychologist and researcher Max Schwarz.
After a detailed mapping project, Men Atlas has identified and classified 502 organisations across the world that focus on the wellbeing of men and boys. These organisations span areas such as men’s mental health, crisis support, fatherhood, community building, advocacy, research, self-development, and support for separated fathers.

Men Atlas: Locating Hundreds of Mens/Boys Organisations
The findings of his work reveal a surprisingly large and diverse ecosystem. The biggest categories are crisis support (138 organisations), community groups (96), and programs/workshops (96).
The map also highlights the breadth of the current movement, showing that support for men and boys extends far beyond politics and advocacy into practical, on-the-ground services.
Importantly, Men Atlas isn’t an endorsement or ranking system. Its purpose is to make a fragmented field more visible, help researchers and practitioners to connect, and assist men and boys in finding support.
When you consider global population is currently around 8.3 billion, with approximately 4.17 billion males in the world, there are comparatively few organisations focused on men and boys.
The Men Atlas demonstrates a shift is underway. Hundreds of groups are already doing valuable work around the world, often with limited resources and little public recognition, but much more needs to be done for our men and boys.
Congratulations to Max Schwarz for creating what may be the first comprehensive global map of organisations working to improve the lives of men and boys. It’s a remarkable contribution to the field and an invaluable resource for researchers, advocates, practitioners, fathers, and communities everywhere.
