Boys lag girls in literacy, Year 12 completion and university participation, yet there is no national strategy to address these persistent gaps. It's time to support the million-plus boys and young men across Australia in education.

It should be no secret that boys and men across the world are struggling. These sobering statistics don’t just affect boys and men; they negatively impact whole communities.

Across Australia our education departments publish annual reports which list achievement gaps – by indigenous status, socio-economic status, disability, geolocation and language background – but never by gender.
